It is traditionally eaten with naan bread along with raita, onion, salad, cucumber, yogurt dip, and chutneys or pickles and this makes it one of the mouth-watering and stomach filling dishes. The word Tikka is derived from the Persian word for pieces. It is made by marinating the pieces of chicken in yogurt and spices before cooking them. Main Differences between Tandoor and Tikka

Chicken tikka uses chicken pieces while tandoori chicken uses the whole thigh, wing, or any part of the chicken. Another difference lies between these two dishes is the method of preparation. Chicken tikka is prepared by grilling over the brazier whereas tandoori is grilled or roasted over an open flame and then cooked in tandoor.

  • Chicken tikka is Drier than Tandoor
