·        Meaning of Journeys

Journeys is the ideal spelling of the word. The rule of converting a singular word to a plural says that when a word ends with ‘y’ and the letter before is ‘y’ a vowel then we add ‘s’ to make it plural. Similarly, this rule applies to the word “journey” as it matches with the above context. Just add ‘s’ to the word journey and it becomes plural.

Examples

I prefer to cover long journeys in the train because it is more comfortable than any other vehicle.
The journeys of Swami Vivekanand have always been my source of inspiration.

·        Meaning of Journies

The word ‘Journies’ doesn’t exist in the English dictionary. The formation of this word is just the result of applying incorrect rules.

Now another question that arises in one’s mind is why the word ‘pony’ becomes “ponies”, ‘hobby’ becomes “hobbies” and ‘fly’ becomes “flies”, although these words also end with ‘y’. So my answer to this question is, if you look closely at these words the former letter from ‘y’ is a constant in all the words. Thus, in this situation, we remove ‘y’ and add ‘ies’ to make it plural.

Examples

I took two flight Journies one was to London and the other was to California.
Passengers should always take a margin time at the time of journies.

The final words

So the easiest way to understand the rule is if the former letter from ‘y’ is a vowel then add ‘s’ to the word. And if the former letter from ‘y’ is consonant then remove ‘y’ and add ‘ies’ to the word.

I hope you find this article helpful and now you don’t possess any doubts regarding the words Journeys and Journies (Journeys Or Journies).
